Here are a few comments from Destiny console players on the subject of adjusting the controller view, made last month. In general, there are several thousand posts and comments on this topic that I could find at the time. My search term was sensitivity. Interest in this topic is varied, consistent and strong over a long period of time.
I’ve enjoyed reading all the comments and seeing all the creative and fun Destiny usernames that players have come up with.
Bungie, please add more control options, thank you. I’ve noticed that these are the areas most often addressed in the controller’s target settings.
- Sensitivity modifier for external influences ADS
- Sensitivity to external influences greater than 10
- Activate/deactivate or cursor for target flattening
- Dead zone parameters
- Generating a thrust in switchable setting
- Separate horizontal / vertical sensitivity
Below you can see the Reddit usernames and then the comment this Destiny player made.
Now that we have 60 frames per second and a higher image, give us the sensitivity options higher than 10. Switching from one SPF to another makes you feel like you’re in molasses while shooting, even at a sensitivity of 10.
It’s obscene to me that fighters can jump faster than you can move the net. This gives them a great advantage.
2021 and the controllers are still CONFIDENT about using traction mode, even though they removed all real bonuses from the credit.
There are a lot of things that Bungie seems to overlook when it comes to controllers.
I literally had this problem yesterday and I’m amazed. Thanks for bringing it up.
It’s embarrassing how poor the controller support is in this game.
I agree. I’m using 10 sensors and it’s too slow…. it should be increased to 20 on the next generation, especially with a higher fov.
I recently switched to Series X. I finally got a promotion for my stint in the game Destiny! I have… I have… Best frame rate and default FOV slider. Here’s how. They should be standard, but we need more accessibility or customization options.
GOOD! Sermons. I have to play four myself because of the DDA. But if I had everything else at 10 and up, that would be fine. It would be nice to be able to map vertical sensitivity as well.
I can’t believe they still don’t allow decimals in the computer’s mouse settings.
Like many others, I would like a separate slider for advertising. I wish I could run at speed 9 or 10, but drive a sniper at speed 4 or 5. You can’t have it all, but the PC can do it, for whatever reason….
Hopefully they do before the crossover game comes along, otherwise it will just be a bunch.
Too bad my boots have one less mud hole since traction is mandatory.
And instead of fixing it by making it an option, they put a band-aid on the pullover mode by making it without capacity AND equipping it with hidden mobility for some reason, which made it interesting to consoles.
In doing so, Bungie has actually widened the gap between console and PC players …. actually widened.
He both recognized the problem and did not fix it.
I wish I could take him down! Oh, my God!
AND IT’S A FUCKING ACCIDENTAL FALL. IT TOOK ME OVER A YEAR AND A HALF TO GET IT.
It’s annoying that a mass move makes a difference because it takes away niches of fantasy. It’s a zero cost mod, but who cares because I don’t need 10 with the other three.
Yo Bungie, it’s in development for YEARS and we still don’t have a choice for the blind spot or the fine tuning of the directionality. Personally, I still play games like Call of Duty with super high camera sensitivity and much lower directionality. With a provision that is simply not possible, and I would like to see it realized.
We should be able to have other advertising and sensitivity for the hips, and a sensitivity of more than 10%.
I’ve found that one of the hardest things to do is to literally shoot someone over the head because the sensitivity is so low. I play on PC with a controller and a man, when Hunter does a triple jump over my head, I lose track of him for a few seconds.
Especially before you cross-play and open the console to the world of PCs. Pc has much more precision with the mnk and incredible speed of movement. You can turn 180 degrees with a flick of your wrist. In the meantime, console players will have to put a mod on their feet so they don’t move and spin like a snail.
I got the old Xbox from a friend as a gift because she wanted me to play with it before Destiny 2 finally went cross-platform…. went. Oh, my God, this is so wrong. Even to help, my accuracy with the controller is not as good as with the mouse and keyboard. I also get the impression that GSRs and snipers are largely useless with the controller. Not being able to move your head on command and feeling like you’re walking in molasses…. It’s not a good problem to have.
I would like to go for the autosprint. I have a bad hand, and after a while it hurts to hit the sprint stick. That’s why I usually do short determination sessions these days. And a sensitivity of over 10 years would be a blessing for my friend, who he asked if it would ever be for many years.
The chaos of the series looks like a console joke now that I’ve played it on PC. You can practically avoid him.
I have a friend who refused to play this game with me because he lacks sensitivity.
I’ve had this complaint for years.
u/less need for sleep
I would have liked that. I just switched to PC and I love mobility. Having played on consoles for 20 years, however, I miss the feel of the controllers. The main disadvantage of the controller is the coverage of the waste sensitivity. I keep telling my friends that if Bungie ever increases the sensitivity from 10 caps (which in other FPS games seems to be 5, let’s face it) to 20 or more, I will use my controller on whatever I can.
Increase the maximum sensitivity from 10 to, say, 15, and I’ll take that over the entire concert season.
Both of them. There are dead zones for a massive 24, and the acceleration of aiming makes it very slow even at high sensitivity. But we need to adjust the sensibility for the commercials as if we’re not in 2007 anymore, and Bungie needs to adjust to the program.
Personally, I think the console is in bad shape.
Every time I want to run, I have to lower my meters to 8 or less, but since I usually play with the 10L, I forget to change and it ruins my shots.
u/The seventh column
Using chaos on a controller is just sad.
Strange that there is now a Fov slider and 60-120Hz, but still no separate display sensitivity.
I couldn’t agree more. I had Destiny on the shelf for almost two years, and when I went back, I was surprised to find that there was still only one target sensitivity setting.
I mean,at least there’s an ADD….. modifier.
Dead zones and sensitivity curve options are also required. Especially if the crossover match is outdoors. More options for controllers help bridge the gap between controllers and SMEs
Traction works as a gain in sensitivity and its cost is 0%.
Dude, seriously. I like the low speed of the ADS, but my character spins like a wide truck.
You absolutely must run with traction blowing. But the game is much better in 105fov.
I’m also tired of running around like an old man with a hip. This game is notoriously slow in terms of console movement and controllers in general.
Traction is only a control fee. Change your mind.
I played Rainbow Six Siege for 3 years straight with a fairly high sensitivity. I used to hit people and play aggressive games because I believed in myself and could turn against my opponent. When I went to Destiny, if I pointed to the right and the guy pointed to the left, it was gg, well done. All I want is to feel faster…
Having played other games that allow me to reduce my blind spot, Destiny seems so flashy to me.
Remove all unnecessary bribes added to the controllers during operation. It doesn’t make sense that even on a PC, using a controller literally changes how the weapon works.
I fully support a comprehensive and long overdue review of the scope parameters. I would gladly trade the content of the season for an improved game.
Can you play it on the PC? Pkmr lol. Yes, the switching speed is the reason I refuse to go back to the regulator. Once you get a feel for how sensitive the mouse is, it’s hard to turn around again slower than a truck at a narrow intersection.
There are no settings for display sensitivity, directional assist, blind spot, or how to increase sensitivity.
You really need it. I have a few friends who will be playing Destiny, but it’s very hard to listen to COD commercials and other FPS.
The fact is that the target parameters are exclusive to CRMs and not PCs in general.
I like to play with the controller on the PC, and I literally cannot adjust these settings, even if they are correct on another possible input system.
YES! This also applies to the PC (I play D2 with a controller on the PC).
The maximum controller sensitivity on Destiny2 (10) is 30% slower than CW Black ops and 40% slower than Warframe.
On top of that, Warframe and Black Ops have a lot more customization in terms of controllers.
That’s the main reason why I never buy the game and only play f2p for two weeks, then it’s just boring.
I think D2 could steal the Warframe player merger if they increase the controller settings. Warframe’s only major appeal is its speed and rhythm.
As an Xbox player, I’ve never had as much fun playing Destiny as I did last week. The next generation improvements are absolutely phenomenal, and we congratulate Bungie for giving us console users a whole new gaming experience.
However, the increase in FOV has given me some additional concerns about the current sensitivity options for controllers. I’m not even going to debate whether Traction should be the basis of the game, because I’ve lost hope that this will change. With the amount of goal adjustments in games like Apex Legends, it’s a bit of a shame that we’re only bound to a slider from 1 to 10.
The beauty of this position is that even at 10 sensitivity with traction, I feel like I’m spinning incredibly slowly. I would like to see higher sensitivity options, and even the ability to adjust vertical and horizontal sensitivity separately would be great. I’m sure it’s been said before, but given how great the game can be on new consoles, I can’t help but think it could be even better.
TL;DR: The fate of the next generation 105 FOV console is great, but I feel slow. Let me break my neck on speed balls.
Have you ever activated Chaos Reach or Blade Barrage and couldn’t get it to change direction fast enough? But 3.5 seconds is not fast enough for a 180° turn?
And if you’re in console PvP, you go to CQC and take on a player who has caught up with you, but your max settings were too slow and you’re dead? Or are you just trying to follow your main opponent on an enemy that moves fast and can’t because he’s too slow?
Or how about shooting at an enemy and then turning around to shoot back, but since you’re moving the scope half the time, you still die?
Or a cripple? The max settings barely give me time to glide, turn and make a good shot; or glide to dodge like M&K, I know because I do it often.
Many people go from one game to another. Like the code of destiny. The difference in sensitivity gives the impression that the fate is very slow. With the next generation, I think it’s the perfect time to increase sensitivity. It seems very slow, even with traction and 10-sensitivity models. It would also be helpful to have a PC console for cross-gen. It would also help with the raids, especially the Atraks who have to scan everywhere. But overall, it’s nice to add this quality of life feature and allow us to have more than 10 sensitivities. Please think of him as a rabbit.
Many people have been asking for these features for a long time. Nowadays, traction is a prerequisite because it reduces the acceleration of the target, so to speak. The lack of screen sensitivity also means that you really have to play with a lower sensitivity if you want to be able to aim effectively. I used to play at ten and I got pretty decent, but pistols were so hard to use unless you had a high blood alcohol level, so I cut it down to eight and it’s much better when you advertise. But that’s the problem, it’s worse with ADS because my rotation speed is now decently lower than with a sensitivity of 10. I’m kind of stuck in limbo right now until these changes happen.
After increasing the FOV speed to the maximum and playing with the new settings on the PS5, I quickly realized that the camera speed is not fast enough on the console.
Can we please get a raise?
You / the regulars
In addition, the ability to independently change vertical and horizontal sensitivity would be a boon. I hate having a good horizontal quick sensitivity and then looking up, especially in the crucible, and feeling something trying to bring my head down.
As the next generation versions of the game come out, I think there should be more sensitivity levels than 10. I just noticed that when playing on the PS5, and it’s not enough, especially when playing with a higher field of view, like in the 105, it feels like it’s slow. He could use a few more options.
Anyone who disagrees?
p.s. Hawkmonth is sick as a fucking…
y/o the eternal Dahaka
And this position is another example.
It’s unfortunate that it happens so often, and Destiny is the only community I encounter so regularly. The most common comments I see in posts opposing this are as follows: I don’t like the problem/control. As for the required target options, it’s impossible to play without them, or, you’d never use them.
Extras are a neutral addition at worst and enhance the experience at best. Especially since Bungie would be known for its sightings of controllers, but their controls failed a decade ago.
A single parameter that determines target sensitivity and appearance is outdated and long overdue for modification. All other SPFs have many ways to adjust the sensitivity to your taste. Horizontal stick sensitivity, vertical stick sensitivity, separating ADS sensitivity from appearance, blind spots in the stick, and Destiny has just…. Sensitivity. It would have been great in 2013, but I think it’s time to link up with the other SPF games.
2020 will satisfy both classic and modern players. To be included in the list, the game must be confirmed for 2020, or there must be a compelling reason to publish it in that year. Therefore, upcoming games with a simple announcement and no major release date will not be considered.
By 2020, there will be a ton in the world of video games. Here are fifteen games waiting for you in the first half of 2020.
