Capcom has done everything it can to bring the Resident Evil franchise back into the spotlight.
And RE3 is no exception.
It’s great that the recent remake has allowed older players to relive some of their favorite games.
But it’s not just the new graphics that get people playing. It’s also the sheer number of mods to choose from.
The RE mod community has had some crazy ideas since the release of the game, and I’ve compiled a list of the best ones for you to check out.
30. fluffy director 5000
Choose this mode
Before you start modeling, you must purchase the Fluffy Manager 5000.
Most games with a serious modding community have their own mod manager, and Resident Evil 3 is no different.
Fluffy Manager 5000 is your one-stop shop for in-game mods. You can use it to do everything from managing the mods you already have installed to downloading brand new mods to try out.
Now, I know it’s not really in vogue, so I’ll add.
As part of the mod download feature in Fluffy Manager 5000, you can download a mod that replaces all enemies with Nemesis – which should make gameplay crazy from the start.
29. Ultimate trainer for Resident Evil 3 Remake
Choose this mode
If you want to play with some mods but haven’t decided what you want to do yet, Raz0r’s Ultimate Trainer is a good place to start.
The simulator has customizable features that allow you to learn some of the different things you can do with modding.
Among other things, the mod offers the ability to change characters, switch to a first-person camera, customize various elements of the HUD, and even enable cheating features such as infinity ammo and walking over walls.
28. immersion RE3 – Resolutions
Choose this mode
One of the first things players use mods for?
Improved graphics.
If you want to play the RE3 remake for the first time, I highly recommend installing the Jimmyandresorder RE3 mod.
The mod just plays with lighting and color options to make things clearer than the original. And while this reduces the overall bleakness of the game’s graphics, it also makes everything much less blurry.
27. Zombie SPF
Choose this mode
Before you start your first game, you should use these Quality of Life mods in conjunction with the RE3 Immersion Reshade preset.
The following mods address common gaming issues, and while the problems they fix aren’t too big (cyberpunk, I’m watching you), you’ll get a much better overall experience if you don’t have to deal with them.
FPS Zombies fixes a problem with RE3 where zombies that are far away from you, whether you play with an unlinked image or not, are still alive at a maximum of 30 frames.
This mod only hampers the game by doing everything your system can handle with FPS.
26th RE3R The best camera is that of Carlos and Jill.
Choose this mode
The RE3R Better Camera Mod is another must in my opinion, as it solves another common complaint fans have about the game.
Many players have reported poor camera angles, and even worse, that those angles occur during encounters with the enemy.
Fortunately for us, the Trickster modeler already has a solution.
This change shrinks the camera a bit, so you can see much more around you, and removes the zoom when you aim, while making it easier to see everything that is happening.
25. silent hill inspired by reshade
Choose this mode
If you want to spice up your next game, Mooncubus’ Silent Hill-inspired redesign is a great way to do so.
Fans of the horror genre will be familiar with Silent Hill and remember how the thick layer of fog created the game’s terrifying atmosphere.
This mod brings a Silent Hill atmosphere to RE3, as if the game wasn’t already dark enough.
24. conventional BR3 inventory
Choose this mode
Like any remake, RE3 has its own bevy of fans who remain loyal to the original.
It’s not that they don’t like the new version, but there are many mods that take some elements from the original game.
Nothing brings back the look and feel of the original RE3 more than nayefk93’s Classic Inventory mod.
This mod replaces the logo on the home screen, inventory menu and health screen with the logo from the original 1999 version.
23. packaging of classics
Choose this mode
How about a little nostalgia with FrankWesker’s classic objects package? It’s sure to bring you back.
This mod uses some of the new element textures similar to the old versions, and I’m sure you remember some of them. These are the spices that did it for me.
If you’ve played the original game, it’s a real treat to see the objects look exactly as they did then, so go see for yourself.
22. Jills define the classic suit
Choose this mode
Jill has become an iconic figure in the Resident Evil franchise.
And if there is one important rule that all developers of game franchises with a long track record should follow, it is that you should never play with iconic characters.
While there are rare cases where reworking a character for a fresh start can work, it is not common.
Why do you think Doomguy, Sonic and Mario’s performance hasn’t changed much across games?
Many Resident Evil fans thought the same about Jill, and the demand for the classic image of the character was quite high.
This mod should be just what you need to return to the old school Jill look of the original game.
21. nemesis classic style
Choose this mode
If iconic heroes can’t be touched, neither can their evil comrades.
While Jill gets a classic makeover, we can’t forget our friend Nemesis.
Nemesis is one of my most terrifying villains in video games, and the way RE3 plays makes it even more terrifying.
Seeing it in its original form immediately reminded me of the feeling of dread I had when I played the game as a child, and should be more than enough to satisfy other fans of the original game.
20. CQBR – M4 SFX Package
Choose this mode
Weapons are another trick when it comes to RE3 mods.
And while some mods bring back the conventional weapons of Resident Evil (we’ll get to that in a moment), others take a different approach.
CQBR – M4 SFX Pack is perfect for replacing some of the weapon sounds in the game with more realistic sounds.
The package is largely taken from PUBG, notably replacing the sounds of M4 fire with the popular royal first-person combat.
19. TSI Eagle 6.0
Choose this mode
The following mod is another treat for those who played the original game. It brings back the famous STI Eagle in the remake of Resident Evil 3.
This weapon was a bit like an Easter egg in the original and was not at all easy to find.
You must defeat Nemesis twice in hard mode to gain access to weapons, and you need a powerful weapon to make it worth your while.
Many fans were disappointed that the weapon was not included in the remake version. So moderator Crazy Potato took it upon himself to bring it back.
18th border use of the Samurai
Choose this mode
Jill’s Samurai Curb is another iconic Resident Evil weapon, though not as hard to get as STI Eagle.
Although getting a weapon was not a problem, the price you have to pay to get a weapon in the remake is quite high.
This led many fans to discuss on the forums whether they should buy it, but the SilverEzredes modder had other plans.
His modified version of Samurai Edge has a new look, but also includes some updates to the original.
The mod includes custom parts and sound effects entirely for the weapon.
17. Dante’s mini sword of the devil
Choose this mode
I have already mentioned that many modders have taken interesting RE3 crossover mods from their other favorite games.
This next mod adds another iconic video game weapon to RE3, but this time from an entirely different series.
Modder Viviltz brings Dante’s legendary sword from the Devil May Cry franchise to RE3.
The sword is much smaller, making it a secondary rather than a primary weapon, but it should still be fun to use to pierce zombies.
Dante (Carlos)
Choose this mode
Weapons are not the only things we can add from other games, as modding allows us to completely change RE3 characters as well.
You will find that there are many different character mods in the mod community, some of which create interesting combinations in the game.
If you liked the Mini Devil’s Sword mod, you might also want to check out this Dante mod.
The mod completely removes Carlos from the game and replaces him with Dante from the DMC series.
15 Tiffa FF7
Choose this mode
FF7 is another popular game that has received a remake in HD, and fans have taken the opportunity to create one of the most unique crossovers imaginable.
The cloud and the gang seem to get along well with everything they encounter, so I think Tiffa would also get along with the flesh-eating zombies.
This mod turned Jill into the Tifa suit from the FF7 remake.
It looks like Jill’s face hasn’t changed, so all we have to do is change her outfit.
14) Aerith Gainsborough
Choose this mode
Tifa’s fans are numerous, but Aerith’s are never far away.
I’m not going to get into an argument about which of the two tracks is better, but you get fashion for both.
This mod completely replaces Jill (including face) and allows you to play the game as Aerith Gainsborough.
Like the previous mod, it comes from the remake version of FF7.
13. 2B or 2P (NieR)
Choose this mode
Tifa and Erit are not the only characters from the Square Enix universe to make an appearance in Resident Evil 3.
JTegh brings us our favorite battle androids of 2017, taken from Nier: Automata.
This mod allows you to trade Jill for 2B or 2P with Nier, which is another interesting game crossover.
Even better, the models include facial animations and hair physics, so you don’t have to worry about breaking through the immersion.
The mod even replaces Jill’s knife with the Virtuous Contract, which is another interesting feature.
12. Ellie TLOU2 Seattle and the winter suits.
Choose this mode
The game of the year 2020 is still fresh in everyone’s mind, as The Last of Us 2 has managed to pick up a few awards.
Now that TLOU has established itself as one of the best games in recent history, we can’t leave out Ellie when it comes to female protagonists.
The DarknessRvaltier moderator allows you to poach Jill from Ellie in TLOU2, so you can play the game as her.
Ellie should have no problem with zombies. She has a lot of experience treating infected people.
And this fashion even comes with clothing options that let you choose between their Seattle and winter outfits.
11th saint
Choose this mode
If you thought Crossroads couldn’t get any crazier, think again.
Given the similarities between Resident Evil and TLOU, I can understand that, ….but Hitman?
Hitman has found its way to RE3, thanks to this mod from es47.
She replaces Jill with one of the saints from the Hitman series and appears in her monk’s habit, as seen in the games.
10) Daryl Dixon
Choose this mode
Of course, the inspiration for these mods is not limited to other video games.
Characters from popular movies and television shows have also found their way into RE3 mods.
When we think of zombies, one of the first TV shows that comes to mind is The Walking Dead.
This mod allows you to play the role of Daryl Dixon in the series and replace Carlos for the duration of the game.
Although he is supposed to represent Daryl Dixon, he looks exactly like he does in Death Stranding, which is another reason for me to buy a mod.
9. Alice is Milla Jovovich
Choose this mode
When it comes to replacing characters from the movies, what better character to use in a Resident Evil game than the star of the Resident Evil film series?
It’s true: this fashion brings us Alice Milla Jovovich, who even wears her signature red dress like in the movies.
8. further research
Choose this mode
Before we move on to the crazier stuff (which is hard to believe, I know), here’s something for players looking for something more serious.
Modder nayefk93’s More Investigation mod is one of the most interesting here, because it unlocks a large part of Raccoon City that you didn’t have access to before.
The mod removes a number of obstacles that prevent you from entering certain areas of the map, allowing you to explore more of the world.
7. captain america
Choose this mode
Next time things get really weird, go back to the characters in the movies.
While the mod itself isn’t great, it just doesn’t make sense to have it as an option in a Resident Evil game.
But as with many fashionistas, it’s fun to see what craziness you can come up with.
If you want to have fun with RE3, this next mod lets you play the role of Captain America from the Marvel Cinematic universe.
Yes, you read it right.
Sixth Ultron
Choose this mode
If you decide to play the role of Captain America, it seems entirely appropriate that we are dealing with a Marvel villain.
Ultron has been a worthy antagonist, appearing in several MCU films, including several in the Avengers series.
As expected, Ultron takes the place of Nemesis during the game.
5) Shrek on Nemesis
Choose this mode
Ultron may be less intimidating than Nemesis, but there’s no denying that he can still be pretty scary.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Resident Evil game without the scary factor …..But what if I told you that RE3 wasn’t meant to be scary at all?
The following mods can help make Raccoon City really fun, starting with replacing Nemesis with Shrek.
How can anyone be afraid of a green ogre?
4. mean dino 3
Choose this mode
While this mod is not as nice as the others on this list, it still seems like a step down from zombies.
Take Resident Evil 3, mix it with Jurassic Park, and you get Dino Evil 3.
The mod replaces all of the game’s enemies with dinosaurs, and although the demo looks pretty baby carriage, the creativity and originality of the mod still ranks fourth on my list.
3. Enemies – the innocent nemesis
Choose this mode
If you replace Nemesis with Shrek, he may seem friendly, but he will still attack you every time you encounter him.
One of the most memorable parts of RE3 is the way Nemesis appears out of nowhere to come after you with all her powerful attacks.
The worst part is, you can’t kill him before the game is over. So there’s nothing left to do but run away.
Well, that, or install a Frenemy modem.
This mod ensures that Nemesis never attacks you. He will still show up when he needs to, but he will no longer be hostile.
2. Jilly Bean (Fall Guys Mod Pack)
Choose this mode
Fall Guys recently took the world by storm with a unique Battle of the Royals version in which you play as cute little jelly beasts in a series of mini-games.
There’s nothing scarier than a scapegoat. And if that’s what you’re looking for, this mod is worth a try.
After this mod is installed, everyone in Raccoon City will wear Fall Guys costumes.
Have fun killing zombies as giant gelatin bears.
1. the Resident Evil 3 of Shoes, but ruined by the mods.
Choose this mode
If you’re really looking for fun, there’s no better choice than Resident Evil 3, but it’s ruined by the ToastedShoes mods.
The name says it all:
This mod basically destroys everything you know about the game by adding a bunch of the stupidest mods you can find.
The mod pack includes many popular cartoon characters such as Shaggy (from Scooby-Doo), Rick (from Rick & Morty), Patrick Star and even Goofy.
Guaranteed to keep you entertained for a few hours.
