Amazon discounting HP TouchPad 32GB edition, big update possible this week.
While we have seen some smaller discounts at other retailers, Amazon has taken $30 off the HP TouchPad 32GB edition. You can pick one up for $559.52. They are also selling the 16GB version for $489.99. Since it’s release a few weeks ago the HP TouchPad has taken somewhat of a beating from the Tech world. While they all saw bright spots with WebOS on a tablet, many thought HP rushed the tablet out before it was ready for prime time. HP has promised they will quickly fix many of the software related issues, possibly releasing an update as early as this week.
HP had said last week that July 17th was their real launch date, and the previous date was a soft launch. Office Depot held demo classes with HP representatives on hand on Sunday. While a huge marketing campaign was promised, we have seen little of it at this point. Maybe now that July 17th has come and gone we will start to see the push to get the word out about the HP TouchPad. A few big apps are also slated to hit the TouchPad this week, which include Amazon’s Kindle and MP3 apps.
