Huawei is not a huge name here in the USA, but they have had two 7 inch tablets already released here in the past several months. These were the Huawei Ideos S7 and Ideos S7 slim. Neither of these tablets used Honeycomb, but that is about to change with their next release called the MediaPad.

The Huawei MediaPad is a 7 inch Android 3.2 tablet running a 1.2Ghz dual-core Qualcomm processor. The device will have a 1280×800 IPS display, 8GB of storage, dual cameras, and weigh just 390 grams. The device will have 3G support. Both of Huawei’s earlier tablets had 3G support, but were sold unlocked in the USA and not tied to any carriers. There is talk that with the Q3 release of this tablet that they will partner up with USA carriers.

Many have commented that the body style looks like a big iPhone 4. I will agree there are similarities, but I do like the design. There has been no word on the price, or an exact date of when the device will be available. You can check out the video below for more about the Huawei MediaPad.
