The all powerful development community over at XDA-Developers has succeeded in releasing the first custom ROM for the Motorola XOOM. XDA member bigrushdog is the one who accomplished this feet, and is calling it Tiamat XOOM Rom.

The Tiamat XOOM ROM 1.0 is pre-rooted and provides a number of featues out of the box including:

  • SU, superuser and busybox
  • SMS capabilities
  • USB mass storage
  • WiFi Ad-Hoc mode
  • A browser hack that will display full desktop views of web pages by default

The ROM is based on the Verizon 3G firmware, but should also work on WiFi versions of the XOOM. The ROM also comes pre-loaded loaded with a few apps, which include a file explorer and Adobe Flash. Head on over to XDA to find out more.
