Acer gives Intel’s Linux based MeeGo it’s first real try at the tablet game in the USA. While the WeTab was the first official MeeGo tablet last year, it has only been available in Germany. Now Acer has announced the Iconia Tab M500 at Computex, adding a MeeGo tablet to their Android and Windows tablet Iconia line. Acer has made some UI changes to MeeGo, adding an app drawer that’s very similar to Android. At this point I am not sure if we need another tablet OS, especially one that has the least history. BlackBerry already has their PlayBook out, and HP will be releasing their TouchPad very soon. With the iPad, Android, and Windows tablets having already staked their places in the market, will customers embrace even more? Check out the video of the M500 in action below.
