Today, at Google I/O, Google has announced an update of Honeycomb to version 3.1. This update is expected to hit the Verizon branded Motorola XOOM starting today. It will hit other Honeycomb tablets over the next few weeks/months. This update is expected to update the task manager, allowing you to see more recent apps, and to home screen widgets. Scrollable widgets will be able to be resized with just a few lines of code added to the widget.

Also added will be the ability to connect a camera to the tablet to copy photos to the tablet. Another added ability for 3.1 is USB host which will allow the use of keyboards, mice, touchpads or game controllers. While this ability has been available on some tablets for awhile it will now be available to all tablets with the 3.1 OS.
