Though it’s a week later then promised, the HTC Flyer is now available to pre-order from Best Buy. It is selling for $499, as we previously reported it would. The Flyer is HTC’s first foray into the tablet world. The Flyer is a 7 inch tablet, and will be released with Android 2.3 with a new tablet version of HTC’s Sense UI on top. HTC has promised an upgrade to Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) shortly after the device is released. Best Buy says the estimated ship date is May 22nd – May 27th.

The device will also feature software called HTC Scribe which will make the device very stylus friendly, as it comes with a capacitive stylus. The screen resolution is 1024 x 600, and it’s powered by a 1.5Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. There is 16GB of storage on-board, and a micro-SD card slot for additional storage. This is the WiFi only version of the tablet, as Sprint will be selling a 4G version called the EVO 4G View.
