T-Mobile G-Slate now available.
The T-Mobile G-Slate officially becomes available today. The Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) tablet is the first shipping with a 8.9″ screen. Some might consider it the sweet spot between the more portable 7 inch, and the more media friendly 10 inch tablets currently shipping. The G-Slate also comes with dual rear-facing 5MP cameras that allow for 3D video recording. Since the device does not have a true 3D display, glasses are included for viewing the 3D video on the device.
The rest of the specs are similar to the Motorola XOOM with a 1Ghz Tegra 2 processor, and 32GB of storage. The device is also capable of using T-Mobile’s “4G” network. This does mean that right now it is the fastest Honeycomb tablet when it comes to internet capabilities, as the XOOM 4G upgrading has yet to begin. You can purchase the device off-contract for $749. On a 2yr contract the device is $529 after a $100 mail-in rebate. You visit T-Mobile.com to purchase the device.
