The XDA crowd is at it again. This time they have sideloaded NetTalk on to the Motorola XOOM and used it to make a phone call over WiFi and 3G. While this is not working completly at this time it surely is a step in the right direction for those of you that would like to use your tablet to make calls.

Currently, you can make a call but the microphone is not working so the other person can not hear you. You also can’t receive phone calls with it yet. I’m sure that some dev/hacker will start looking in to this more to see if these features can be fixed. Download the apk file of NetTalk from either of the links in this post.
