BGR has been told by multiple sources that the BlackBerry PlayBook will be released on April 10th. They are also reporting that the QNX software running the PlayBook should be finalized by March 31st and you will be prompted to update when you turn your device on for the first time. The PlayBook will most likely be available from several retail outlets, no word on when exactly the 3G/4G versions will be released.
With the announcement today of Apple’s iPad 2 you can be sure BlackBerry, HP, and Android tablet makers are anxious. Will the iPad 2 be innovative enough to attract new buyers, and get current iPad owners to buy the next version? Or will all these new tablet makers have a chance to gain significant market share. The next few months will be interesting to say the least. As I have said before… “Let the tablet wars begin!”.
