Samsung to release 8.9 inch Galaxy Tab this summer.

Now we may better understand why Samsung had no plans for another 7 inch tablet. Last year before even the current 7 inch Galaxy Tab was out we were told that they would ultimately release tablets in 7, 8, and 10 inch sizes. One has been released, the other already announced, and next up is the 8 inch variety. This news come from the Korean Yonhap News Agency. They report that a Samsung spokesman told them that the 8.9 inch tablet could be out as early as next month.
Many think that the 8.9 inch size is the best of both worlds. It has the portability factor, but also gives you a more substantial viewing area then 7 inch tablets. All this without the bulk of a 10 inch tablet. It will be interesting to see if this device has otherwise similar specs as the upcoming Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet that was just announced at MWC. We can also assume that this new tablet would be running Android 3.0 (Honeycomb).
