Archos has just started shipping the Archos 48. This is a 4.8 inch Android tablet with a 500GB hard drive. While it does have a Arm Cortex A8 processor running at 800Mhz it is only running Android v1.6. This is several versions behind when it comes to what most tablets are running, and even further then Android 3.0 which is due for release next month. I do speculate that the reason this is running Android 1.6 is for Archos to maintain compatibility with the DVR station.
