RIM buys Android UI maker to help with BlackBerry tablets and phones.

RIM has announced that is has bought The Astonishing Tribe(TAT) to help improve its mobile interfaces. They are bringing them on to help the UI on both its BlackBerry phones and on their Playbook tablet. Currently there is no word on how quickly we might see TAT’s work show up on BlackBerry devices, or even if the PlayBook will debut with their work or not.
TAT’s previous work had been on the T-Mobile G1 back in 2008 and they have also released widgets and wallpapers. There focus has also been gesture driven 3D interfaces. It can be assumed that TAT will discontinue working on Android devices at this point.
