Cruz Tablet is ARM less.
We now know why Velocity Micro was with holding the processor information for the Cruz tablet. It is using the Ingenic JZ4760 MIPS processor.
Android is usually built for ARM based chips but can be ported over to a MIPS based device. As it stands now however, there are not many ports of Android and any upgrades would have to wait on another port. While I have found a Froyo port maybe Velocity Micro found it to difficult to implement on this device. Only they can say for sure but so far they are not talking.
Here is the pertinent information
- 600Mhz shown as 528Mhz in dmesg
- dual-core
- support DDR and DDR2 memory
- h264 decoding unit
The data sheet on this processor can be found here. The data sheet is in English even if the site is not.
