Android 3.0 to be put into hands of tablet manufacturers in December.
We are learning that tablet engineering samples running Android 3.0 will be sent out to select manufacutring partners in December. With a host of tablets said to be debuting in January at CES 2011 hopefully we will see many of those already running the elusive Gingerbread OS.
New tablets from Asustech, Acer, Motorola, and HTC should be showing their glossy faces at CES, and Samsung most likely will be showing the Galaxy Tab featuring the updated OS. Rumor is that Android 4.0 will be out in the second half of 2011, but there is no mention if a 3.5 version will exist at all.
The recent leaked features of 3.0 didn’t talk much of tablet specific upgrades even though it has been proclaimed the tablet ready version of Android. Here is hoping that by December we get more specifics on that.
